So, DeviantArt has some policies about image content, which prevent some fun things from happening on images posted here. No, actually I'm not among the ones to question these policies; it is their site, so it's their rules. I'm just a guest here.

Anyways, what I'm trying to say is, I have some images I'd like to share, but am not allowed to do so here, so I opened an account on HentaiFoundry dot com, under the username soggo (yay, no need for the "the", which I didn't add here out of sheer douchebaggery, but because "soggo" had already been taken, and I couldn't come up with anything better). I think some of you might enjoy what I post there as well, but of course these images are a bit rougher and dirtier (though not that much, I'd say, me still being me), so, well, I warned you. And invited you. Whatever fits best.

Thank you... have a nice and healthy 2013 as well, man.

I didn't post much, lately, but I'll try to add something every now and then. And I keep wondering: Does anybody ever revisit the earlier images? Or are they old news, and only new stuff is good stuff... :worry:

I can't speak for everyone, but I revisit your older work frequently. It's just that I don't need dA to do that, so probably I'm not upping the hit counter on dA for your older stuff.

I don't know whether others among your dA viewers are saving older images or not. But I'm too much of an historian and style analyst to not take advantage of the digital means of collection. (If you're worried about thievery, though (I don't think this is the case), you should let me know and I will--I promise--delete your images from my hard drive.)

When it comes to art, to my mind there's no such thing as "old news." Every image an artist produces feeds upon the images that artist has already produced. How could it be otherwise? That's where reflexivity and even "retro" comes from. Even a complete change of style (I'm thinking Picasso) demands of viewers that they recall, compare, and contrast earlier efforts. So while I am always glad to see new work from you, I'm always thinking of other things you've done, and find myself going back to them. This brings me joy as well as...ahem...pleasure.

Whether it's the case that "only new stuff is good stuff," is an entirely different issue. Obviously it's clear where I stand. And my guess is that there are plenty of serious artists here at dA and elsewhere who would judge that question to be merely rhetorical. The problem for dA is that there are so many, many young artists and surfers, here, whose sense of time, history, oeuvre, etc. hasn't really developed.

My guess is (and of course I could be wrong) that for these viewers, like teenagers and music, it's always the next thing coming that deserves attention, otherwise you're just not clued in. Pop music marketing has always made that assumption, and so the demographic of interest are teens and preteens, ages 11-16. After you've hit sixteen, your stuff heads for the "oldies but goodies" bin, because the new 11-year-olds don't know it, don't care about it, and are only listening to what's their stuff. So, could be that this mindset is operating among the younger viewers here at dA. Remember, you only have to be 13 to get an account here. Personally, I think that's a travesty, but it ain't my site. I don't make the rules.

You, sir, will always be in my top rank! Always have been, since I first ran across your stuff in other far-flung arms of the www galaxy.

Glad you enjoy; I'm still pretty sure it's rather downhill lately, but don't expect me to fight too hard to convince everyone else about that. At least there were a few gems this year, too, if I may say so myself.

As I said before, you're always welcome here; thank you for taking the time to leave some comments :thanks:
